Damage to gene material or commonly referred to as gene mutations can occur in several ways, both internally and externally.

Internal Factors

A replication error occurs when dead cells are replaced by new cells.

It is a genetic error that is passed down from parents. This error usually causes cancer at an early age.

If a mother has breast cancer, not all of her daughters will experience the same thing, the reason is that cells with genetic errors must be damaged before becoming cancer cells. It's just that individuals who carry the wrong genetic cell are indeed more prone to cancer than those who don't have the wrong gene mutation.

The internal factor of gene mutation cannot be prevented but the external aspect can be prevented. According to WHO, 10% - 15% of cancers, caused by internal aspects and 85%, caused by external aspects. So, even if it's not 100%, we can help prevent or avoid cancer by getting away from external factors.

External Factors

External factors that can damage genes are viruses, air pollution, cooking, radiation, and come from chemicals, both chemicals that are included in food, and chemicals that come from pollution.
